What is Sober Companion?
A sober companion provides 24 hour/7 days a week live-in support and supervision for clients who need an extremely high level of individualized care. The client may have just returned from a residential treatment program and is fearful of relapsing. Or, she may not be a good fit for a residential treatment facility and prefers to get sober at home and seek appropriate treatment within her own area.

What is Sober Transport?
Navigating airports, subways and major cities can be a stressful, confusing task for anyone. Newly sober people or people in crisis can be overwhelmed by it all. Through her association with Sober Companion NYC, Cathy works with families to make sure their loved one has a sober escort to help get them to appointments, whether it’s traveling to and from a treatment center or to doctors appointments or job interviews. Cathy has valuable experience working with newly sober people and can ease the fear, uncertainty, and confusion of such times. Although she is based in NYC, she is licensed and insured to travel anywhere in the USA to provide professional and personal attention that recovering people need during their transition from addiction to a sober life. She is also available to escort clients to business events, parties and important family gatherings to ‘anchor’ them in their recovery.

As a sober companion, Cathy uses her own recovery (since 2004) and her skills and training as a certified Life (CPC) and Recovery Coach (CCAR/CARC) to be a role model and power of example to support her clients achieve long-term sobriety. She also works closely with families of newly recovered clients to help them create boundaries and develop their own recovery skills as well.
